Paris The Other Way was created in 2020, in the midst of my proper despair and a strong personal crisis. The aim, as it remains today, was to create something of a higher value, beautiful and authentic, that will counter the shallowness, lies, violence and repulsiveness of today’s society. Something that would make us dream, think, believe and see the world with a brighter perspective. Art imposed itself as an ultimate remedy for that. I must say that the word Paris, the place where it all started, is principally a symbolic construct, representing freedom, innovative thinking and a certain aesthetic, all qualities of this majestic and evil metropolis. It was in Paris that I visited the astonishing ateliers of painters such as Vincent Bebert and Etienne Assenat, met the American poet and professor of poetry Stuart Dischell, also the first guest writer for Paris the Other Way, and impregnated myself with all aspects of culture that the city of Paris has to offer. I wish to thank the art historian and former decorative arts editor of Nest magazine Lisa Zeiger for being a major inspiration in pursuing this endeavor, making me realize that language is a weapon of self-affirmation, and there is no shame in making it astonishing. With Lisa’s great support I created a text related to interior design “The Pathos of Things”, a determinative point in my writing.
Paris the other way has vastly exceeded the limits of the french capital in the choice of subjects, representing artists all around the world. I am determined to say that there is much more to come, and that the objective is to create an art magazine of reference, notably representing visual arts, photography and design.
