ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

French-born photographer Anne Saint-Pierre arrived in New York as a moving-image designer.

She developed an experimental visual language at the intersection of film and typography.

Photography eventually became her primary medium, allowing exploration of the poetry of the present moment.

Photography in Saint-Pierre’s Work

Saint-Pierre’s work is deeply attentive to the fragile, fleeting qualities of everyday life. The rawness of reality and the changing character of light appear in each photography frame.

Across projects such as Water/Agua, Seeds of Resilience, and France of the Mind, she examines place and memory. She explores displacement and the human experience through an intimate, cinematic lens.

Her visual sensibility is informed by filmmakers including Andrei Tarkovsky, Alice Rohrwacher, and Michael Haneke. Moreover, their influence is felt in her sensitivity to atmosphere, duration, and her affinity with magical realism.

Alongside her personal projects, Saint-Pierre works with organizations, businesses, and private clients whose practices engage with sustainability, immigrants’ rights, and economic empowerment.
